JESS SHAND
Naturopathic Nutritionist (dipCNM mANP mGNC) & Author of The Hormone Balance Handbook
Jess Shand is one of the UK’s leading Women’s Health Registered Naturopathic Nutritionists, Educator and Author of The Hormone Balance Handbook, published by HarperCollins.
She is renowned for redefining hormone balance through whole-body nourishment, targeted daily habits and an evidence-based, functional food approach to female health optimisation.
Jess is passionate about bridging the gap between nutritional science and what women can realistically integrate into daily life. Her work translates complex physiology into clear, actionable strategies that create measurable, lasting change.
Her philosophy is rooted in the powerful belief that symptoms are the body’s way of communicating a need. They are not random, and they are not something women simply have to live with or put up with. Hormones respond to how we eat, live, rest and manage stress and when those foundations shift, the body has an extraordinary capacity to recalibrate and rebalance.
Her authority in this space is shaped not only by years of clinical training, but by lived experience and her unique, warm way of delivering information so that it truly lands and creates change.
After navigating her own hormonal imbalances, amenorrhea, hypothyroidism and fertility challenges, she experienced first hand what happens when the body is supported intelligently and consistently. That transformation now underpins the education, writing and health-changing frameworks she shares with women globally through her social media channels including Instagram, Substack and the readers of her book.
Alongside her work as an author and educator, Jess runs a private women’s health nutrition clinic, where she has proudly supported hundreds of women through complex hormonal, metabolic, digestive, skin and fertility-related concerns. This clinical foundation informs her direct, results-focused approach, one that prioritises sustainable forever change over short-term fixes.
At the heart of Jess’s work is teaching women to work with their body’s. She champions nourishment that is both functional and joy-giving, celebrating foods that women love, and that love them back.
Her approach moves beyond restriction, helping women build a way of eating and living that restores trust in their bodies, supports hormonal resilience and creates health that feels as good as it looks.
